Has it really been that long?

So I was thinking about time today. And how when I got married, I posted a long-ass blog on here. And all of my xanga friends commented on it. And I honestly thought, will we stop using this one day? Fall out of touch? I couldn't imagine it.

But I haven't been back here in a year. Last blog: August 2007. And just now, I visited some friends' xanga sites. And it's been a while for them, too. It's the losing touch that's the hardest to deal with. People you used to see every day, knowing the intimates of their lives, the banal activities, the gossip, hardships, fears, and accomplishments.

Then you graduate.

Haha.

And dissipate.

And wonder, a few years later, wow. What a crazy time. A great time. I miss it. Getting old is scary, and I'm not even old yet. I wonder sometimes if it's not the waiting to get old that really bothers us.

Truth

Say what you mean and mean what you say -- those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I thought this was so true and quite pertinent.

MY LIFE IS BORING

Yeah, the title says it all. I am feeling extremely bored with my life lately. Not with who I am with (I love me some Jonboy and my doggies) or even where or what I do. It's just...I hear stories of other people's lives...people who go exciting places and have interesting, spontaneous experiences.

I get up every morning at 20 to 6. I make my and my husband's lunches. I make coffee. I feed the dogs. I let the dogs outside. I go to the bathroom and get ready. I watch the news and eat breakfast (cereal usually, and OJ). I drive the long-ass commute to work. (I don't smoke anymore so the drive seems really extra long...when will I ever get used to this? I haven't smoked in my car in forever, but I still miss it). I teach. I hold office hours. I eat lunch (usually a turkey sandwich, pretzels, and a fruit cup). I grade. I drive the long-ass commute back home. I go to the gym. I come home. I let the dogs out. I eat a snack (fruit cup), do some grading, maybe take the dogs for a walk, and wait for Jon to come home. When Jon comes home, we talk about our days (usually bitch about our days, actually). We eat dinner. We watch TV. We go to bed (actually, I usually go to bed first...Jon is a night owl).

Then I wake up and do it all over again. Yes, every once in a while, I meet up with some girlfriends or family for dinner or MAYBE a drink on a weeknight. But this is typically my routine. On weekends, I usually see my family at some point. Jon and I go OUT to dinner at least once. I go to the gym. I eat a little "worse" on the weekends. I might go see a friend or have a friend visit once every couple of months.

And I am just bored. I know I sound like an asshole, so I want people to know they can completely ignore this moody, immature post, but I am just so, I don't know, aggravated. I am 25 years old! Why am I not doing crazy, Sex and the City fun things? Why do I care? Damn.

BOO DEY!

Ah, the Bengals lost. The sorriest lost ever. Missed a game-winning field goal, went to overtime, and let the Steelers run a touchdown on the third play of their drive. Dammit! And, even worse, all of the other playout options worked out; had we won, we would be in a Wild Card game and in the running for the Superbowl. Double dammit! Oh well. They need to work on some stuff and I look forward to seeing a good team in August.

New Years Eve was fun. We made it home at about 6pm, ate some dinner, and the family came over. Drank some (ok, ok, A LOT) of champagne, played some cornhole in our garage, haha, and set of a scooterbomb at midnight. Fun times, fun times.

School started back today and I was happy for it. This quarter is going to be fun...at least I get that impression from the first day. But we all know how that can change...haha. Keep your fingers crossed for me! ;o)

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
